Van der Valk Leiden saves energy with Cheetah

09-07-2012 | In June, Sprinx installed the Cheetah Energy Control System in the kitchen of the Van der Valk Hotel in Leiden. The four-star-plus hotel was recently presented with the results of this system.

Frans Schohaus Director of Hotel Leiden: ‘We are very satisfied with the results of this system. We are not only realising significant energy savings, we will also be reducing our CO2 emissions by 58,000 kg each year thanks to this system. This investment therefore is perfectly consistent with our sustainability policy.’

The Hotel saves 47% each year on the conditioned air for its kitchen ventilation system and as much as 63% on its electricity consumption. Based on these figures the return on investment will be 1.5 years. In addition to Hotel Leiden, Sprinx has since installed the Cheetah Energy Control System in 12 other Van der Valk hotels in the Netherlands and Belgium.
