Vickers achieves gas savings of 31% at CEVA Logistics

12-07-2016 | Once again, the Vickers Energy Management System (EMS) has achieved substantial savings. This time at the logistic warehouse of CEVA Logistics in Boom (Belgium), where the system was installed in 2014. Over the period of one year, 554 MWh gas  – the equivalent of about 56.000 m3 – has been saved on the consumption of 22 heaters. The payback time is 1.26 years.

The investment in the Vickers system was financed by Belgian real estate company and building owner Intervest Offices & Warehouses. A first for Sprinx, as, at the time, Intervest was the only real estate company that invested in the Vickers EMS for one of its tenants.

Intervest is very concerned with safeguarding the sustainability of its portfolio. That is why the company is pleased with the performances of the Vickers EMS: “I’m very positive about the system, because it’s simple and user-friendly. The execution and follow-up by Sprinx was perfect. Additionally, the tenant is very satisfied with the system and that is what’s most important to us!,” says Stéphane Wauters, Property Manager at Intervest Offices & Warehouses

Even though Intervest did not directly enjoy the gas savings, the added benefits of cost reduction and sustainability were of such importance to the company that it commissioned the installation nonetheless. Through an additional contribution, CEVA retains 100% of the achieved gas savings, leaving Intervest with a satisfied tenant and a more sustainable building.
