Three Cheetah projects in the United Arab Emirates: ROI-record of 0.33 years!

04-04-2016 | Since last year, Sprinx has been active in the United Arab Emirates. Thanks to the great performance of our unique Cheetah Energy Control in Europe, last summer, we have been awarded our first project by Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa. As calculated, the achieved results of this project turned out to be substantial. Soon, more Cheetah installations followed in two other luxurious 5 star Hilton resorts: the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah and the Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort.

Hilton takes a great deal of responsibility for taking care of the environment and is therefore very content with the great results Cheetah brought them: “Hilton Worldwide is very passionate about saving energy in any possible way in its hotels. It is therefore fantastic that the Cheetah Energy Control saved us a tremendous amount of energy within such a short period of time. All investments have been recovered in an average of 9 months!” says Sabry Balboul, Cluster Director of Engineering of Hilton in Ras Al Khaimah.

On average, the three hotels achieve annual savings of 50% on electricity and conditioned air combined. In terms of carbon reduction, this comes down to a total of nearly 343,000 kg. The payback times amount to an average of 9 months. For the Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort (photo) that is just 4 months, a record for Sprinx!

In the Emirates, the subject of energy saving is increasingly placed higher on the agenda. The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, a governmental advisory body concerned with sustainable energy, set a goal to reduce energy consumption by 30% in 2030. As a result, more and more initiatives are being taken to cut energy and gas consumption as much as possible. In March of this year, the second RetroFitTech conference took place in Dubai during which all focus was placed on energy saving and sustainability.
