Our challenge

Switching to Cheetah proved to be a smart move for Hilton The Hague. This luxurious 5-star hotel, located in The Hague's historic city centre, has a large kitchen with a single and a double hood. Overcapacity meant that savings could be achieved in the consumption of electricity and conditioned air - 65% and 37% respectively. In addition, the payback time for this intelligent system was only 1.1 years. Sprinx installed Cheetah in the hotel's kitchen in December 2014. After installation the energy consumption dropped to a much lower level almost immediately.

Less kitchen activity means less consumption

Before Cheetah was installed, both fans ran 20.5 hours per day - which is equivalent to 86 kWh. However, it turned out that full capacity was only required during a much shorter period of the day, which is why consumption was reduced to 22.5 kWh per day once the Cheetah had been installed. That's equivalent to a 74% saving. At the same time, the consumption of heated air dropped by over 40%. Total savings amounted to 47% during the measurement period, which means that Sprinx has easily exceeded its guaranteed saving.

Please note: the electricity savings refer to the entire year, the heating savings only refer to the heating season.
